Real cost comparison

~20× cheaper than Zapier at scale

Zapier charges per task. Zalapier charges per month. Here's what that means in dollars.

Monthly webhook volume Zapier (Professional) Zalapier You save
5,000 ~$73/mo $29/mo (Pro) $44/mo (~2.5×)
25,000 ~$289/mo $29/mo (Pro) $260/mo (~10×)
50,000 ~$599/mo $29/mo (Pro) $570/mo (~20×)
100,000 ~$999+/mo $29/mo (Pro) $970+/mo (~34×)
1,000,000 enterprise quote $99/mo (Ultra) thousands/mo

Zapier costs estimated from public Professional/Team pricing. Each Zap step counts as one task; multi-destination Zaps multiply the cost. Zalapier prices include unlimited fan-out destinations.

What's actually different about Zalapier

Persists before delivery

Every webhook is written to Postgres before any delivery is attempted. If your downstream is restarting, the event is already safe.

Exponential backoff retries

1m → 5m → 15m → 1h → 4h. Six attempts cover the realistic failure-recovery window for almost any incident.

Edit & replay sandbox

Inspect any payload, edit the JSON body if your handler had a bug, and re-queue — without asking Stripe or Polar to resend.

Pricing FAQ

Why flat-rate instead of per-task pricing?

Webhook traffic is spiky. A Stripe checkout flash sale or a Polar promotion can 10× your daily volume for a few days. Per-task pricing turns a successful traffic event into a billing surprise. Flat-rate makes your monthly cost predictable so you can plan capacity instead of fearing it.

What happens if I exceed my plan's monthly cap?

Zalapier holds excess payloads (up to 2× your monthly cap) without dropping them. Upgrade to a higher plan and held payloads automatically release and deliver. Beyond 2× the cap, ingestion is rejected with a clear status header so you can see the issue immediately.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes — no annual lock-in. Cancel from the billing dashboard and your plan downgrades to Free at the end of the current billing period. Existing payload history is preserved per the Free plan's 1-day retention.

Do you offer annual billing?

Not currently. Plans are monthly with no commitment. If your finance team needs an annual contract, email hello@zalapier.com.

Is the Free plan really free?

Yes. 1,000 webhooks/month, 1 endpoint, 1 destination, 1-day retention. No credit card required to sign up. The only nudge to upgrade is when you cross the volume cap.

What payment methods do you accept?

Billing is handled through Polar. Major credit cards and several alternative payment methods are supported. EU customers are billed in EUR with VAT handling included.

How does pricing compare for high-volume customers?

Ultra at $99/mo handles 1,000,000 events. At that volume, a per-task processor like Zapier would quote thousands of dollars per month. If you're hitting the Ultra cap regularly, email us at hello@zalapier.com — we have options for sustained 5M+ event volumes.

Does my plan include all the integrations?

Zalapier accepts standard HTTP POST webhooks from any source — Stripe, Polar, GitHub, Shopify, Twilio, SendGrid, Lemon Squeezy, and any custom provider. There's no per-integration limit on any plan; the limits are on volume, retention, and destinations only.

What happens to payloads after retention expires?

Payload bodies are pruned after the retention window (1d / 7d / 30d depending on plan). Delivery status, timestamps, and metadata are preserved indefinitely so you can still query your historical delivery patterns. If you need long-term payload storage, export to CSV from the dashboard or use the JSON:API to push events to your own data warehouse.
